Local 108 Member Presents at American Library Association Conference

June 28, 2012

Local 108 would like to express  our congratulations to Nicole Williams of member Englewood Public Library. On June 25th Nicole presented on a panel at the American Library Association’s Annual Conference in Anaheim, California. The theme of the panel was “Keep the Fight Going: Libraries Fight Back.” Her presentation discussed how Local 108 & community members helped Englewood Public Library to fight back against devastating proposed budget cuts of over $500,000. According to Nicole “our union’s unwavering support made the difference between a budget cut that would have cost services and jobs and one that hurt, but could be over come.” The union is only as strong as its members and we are proud to see one of our members taking a leadership role in the fight to protect our community libraries. Nice job Nicole!
