On Feb. 12, Local 108 joined forces with the NAACP and
various other community organizations for a rally to save Camden’s Police
Department. In a move that can be called nothing other than union busting,
Camden is moving forward with a plan to replace the entire city police force
with a county-run force. This move came despite clear opposition from the
officers and the community. Local 108 would like to thank the NAACP for hosting
Local 108 is proud to welcome our newest members from the
Township of Guttenberg, New Jersey. Working together with the Local 108
organizing team, the town employees successfully gained the union advantage.
Local 108 is partnering once again with Working Families
United for New Jersey in their efforts to increase voter registration across
the state. Local 108 will conduct
registration efforts on two fronts: In the coming weeks and months Local 108
will be focused on registering Newark voters. Most importantly for our members, our business agents will be
carrying around voter registration forms as they visit your worksite. So if
you’re not registered make sure you fill out a form!
